March 2022 Update

Greetings everyone, and welcome to March. That means that a return to MWCCC racing is less than 2 weeks away! This is intended to be a quick update ahead of our first weekend, hosted by the Cycling Club at Indiana University

Registration and Flyer

Registration for the Candy Stripe Classic is available at: https://www.bikereg.com/candy-stripe-classic. The flyer, containing much of the race information, can also be found there. Be sure to also follow Cycling Club at Indiana on social media to 1) see their awesome racing so far and 2) get any updates on the race. I will also share relevant information here.

Collegiate Upgrades

Ahead of the season, now is the time to submit road upgrade requests (well, really several weeks ago would have been the time…) . For a refresher, collegiate upgrade requirements can be found in the collegiate policy document at: https://s3.amazonaws.com/usac-craft-uploads-production/documents/CollegiatePolicyDocument.pdf. Upgrades can only be submitted and processed on USA Cycling. For help on doing that, see the upgrade help at: https://usacycling.org/resources/upgrades.

In order to ensure upgrades are processed in time for registration, I am instituting a policy this year that all upgrade requests must be submitted by noon (central time) on Wednesday before the race weekend. I will do everything I can to ensure these are then processed in a timely manner.

As a reminder, all riders must compete in the category on your license. Please also double check your team affiliation, and get your club renewed if you haven’t already (see my previous update for help with that if you need it).

Call for Conference Director

As I stated in the last update, this spring is going to be my last as MWCCC conference director. If you, or someone you know, are interested in learning more about the position, drop me an email at bryan.garfoot@mwccc.org

See y’all in a couple weeks in Bloomington!
